Your journey to greater wellbeing
at home begins here.
Offering support, encouragement and tools to transform your home into your personal sanctuary - a place that relaxes and rejuvenates you, and promotes your health and wellness.
Feeling and doing your best, true wellness, is only attainable when you have a healthy environment supporting you. Research suggests that your home is the foundation of security and contentment in your family life. As your launching pad into the world, it is also the foundation of your success outside the home.
My mission is to help you build a beautiful, colorful, welcoming home that promotes ease, creativity and contentment for you and each member of your family. I work with clients at every life stage, including moms and dads, young adults in their first apartment, and seniors moving to assisted living. I am passionate about sustained wellness and health for all members of our society and know that we, as a community, can live better.
Using a practical, non-judgmental approach, time-honored philosophy and current research, I provide guidance to help you make changes and improvements to your home environment that will make a positive impact on your quality of life.
Declutter, Donate & Discard: Clean-out and remove excess possessions.
This is hands-on work we do together in a thoughtful but decisive way and includes identifying appropriate recycling, consignment or charitable organizations in need of the items and arranging removal from your home. I help you decide what to dispose of and where to dispose of it, and what to keep and where to keep it.
Expect to spend 2-5 work sessions of 3 hours each for an average-sized 3-bedroom home. This allows us to clear much of the excess accumulation in your home. Additional work sessions may be necessary for heavy clutter, large homes and collections of sentimental items (slower paced). After this work, you may find yourself applying your new clutter mindset to additional areas of your home and property.
Reduce Chemical Exposure: Replace unhealthy food and household items.
Chemical-laden, fragranced products and processed foods impact your body through direct contact with your skin, your GI tract and your lungs. To reduce your collective exposure, I am happy to tell you that you do not need to sacrifice tasty snacks or fresh-smelling rooms! There is a balance to be struck between health, eco-consciousness, effectiveness, enjoyment, cost and convenience. I take a practical approach to assist you in weighing that tradeoff for your household’s priorities and needs by informing you of the current research and identifying potentially safer replacements.
This work can be done in-home in any or all of the following categories: food and drink, personal care products, cleaning products, laundry products and cosmetics and feminine care. I take an inventory of products with negative health impacts and provide you with a list of replacements via email. This work can also be initiated by providing me with your inventory.
Coming soon: Zoominars for you and your children!
Household Organization, Productivity Routines & Habits: Perform “housework” with greater joy, ease and efficiency.
This consultative work explores how you currently use your time at home and clarifies what you would like to accomplish. I teach you how to build simple new habits to solve the “not-enough-time-in-the-day” dilemma. Productivity routines may include daily cleaning to weekly meal planning to quarterly house maintenance and more. Developing creative strategies for your whole family will lead to improved health, wellness and peace.
Coaching is offered in person or via periodic emails to encourage you to keep your house organized, maintain a healthy diet, and schedule your days with priorities and goals in mind. I am also happy to work with your partner or children one-on-one to teach them efficient habits that will benefit them for years to come.
Room Reengineering & Furniture Placement: Finish projects and put your house in order.
Our culture encourages too many To Do lists and too little sleep. People have insufficient time to complete projects around the house before their attention is pulled away to something else. Your subconscious mind uses a lot of energy trying to suppress these loose ends. Feng Shui expert Karen Kingston wrote, “You will be surprised at how your vitality soars if you just complete all your unfinished business.”
We walk through your home with fresh eyes to identify areas that could be improved with relatively small changes. I provide you these ideas in the moment, so that we can correctly place existing furniture, decor or artwork to immediately shift the energy flow and increase your satisfaction with your home environment. I help you to finish those unfinished decorating projects, select room paint colors and place your possessions and furniture to maximize the positive vibes you feel in your space. This work is especially effective after decluttering and organizing, and as you prepare to put your home on the market.

Often an attempt to declutter a parent's home can result in the adult child feeling the parent "can't let go of the old days" and the parent feeling their treasures are not valued. With a deep respect for their wisdom and life story, I can help older individuals pare down to their most cherished treasures, or guide them to create a legacy project to honor important memories. Decluttering will highlight their most important possessions and clear space to make moving around their home safer, or prepare them for down-sizing or moving to an assisted living facility.
As an end-of-life doula and hospice bereavement volunteer since 2011, I have combined my specialized training in death and grief with my passion for the domestic arts. I will assist you in respectfully processing grief while cleaning out a loved one's closet, office or workshop. If you have lost a loved one and feel you are ready, I can support you in reviewing keepsakes and clothing and deciding what to let go.
“Clearing and organizing one’s house is a daunting task fraught with inertia and emotional turmoil. Kristen's approach, beginning with a well-designed survey and a one on one consultation, was just what we needed. Kristen’s calm demeanor, thoughtful insights, and non-judgmental support and direction was invaluable. She spent a mere three hours with me jump-starting the purge, undoing years of shoving things in the closet to get them out of the way, but her impact is still being felt days and weeks later. I spent the rest of that day purging, reorganizing and being reflective about what to keep and where to put it. Kristen encouraged me to think both about beauty and function. As often is the case with projects such as these, a change in mindset is essential. We as a family are becoming more thoughtful in what we bring into the house and are enjoying the things we decided to keep. We are playing board games that have been sitting piled up in a corner for years, reading books that had been lost in our collection and wearing clothes that we have rediscovered in our previously overstuffed closets. We as a family are enjoying our home and our time together more - which is priceless. Kristen's enthusiasm and passion for creating beautiful, peaceful, organized and functional spaces absolutely shine through and are infectious. Thank you, Kristen!!!”

“Thanks again for all of your help today! You really helped me change a lot of my mindset and I think everybody is very impressed that you were able to get me to get rid of certain college items, mom items and items with tags, all of which I’ve been holding onto for a long time. I think you definitely have a gift of getting people to let go of things and thinking about things in a different way!”

"So, Kristen is the "rug whisperer!" Trust me when I say just let her select a rug for a room in your home. Kristen was able to locate the perfect rug to complement my saddle brown leather sofa and mint green shore house. She gave me the confidence to go beyond my comfort zone and I'm so happy I listened to her. Now this rug is the foundation of our house design. When I shop for accessories I just use the colors from this textile as my inspiration. Just invite Kristen to your home and she will guide you and inspire you."

“Can we just talk about design resources? Within a few minutes of me describing the aesthetic I’m trying to achieve with my living room refresh, Kristen shared her ideas and guided me to the most amazing resources. Need a custom fireplace mantel or a unique lighting fixture? Kristen knows exactly where to send you. With a keen eye toward style and quality, Kristen will steer you to the best shop, merchant, or supplier to make your project shine!”
